New Volkswagen buses have just reached the Movebuss fleet, an urban passenger transport company in São Paulo. The lot is composed by 57 Volksbus, divided between models 17,230 OD and 15,190 OD. All air-conditioned to ensure a refreshment, already on the eve of summer, to the more than 9 million and 100 thousand passengers transported per month by the company.
About 70% of Movebuss's total fleet is made up of Volkswagen buses, a choice that CEO Antônio Alves de Oliveira justifies: "I did a study with vehicles from all companies and I could see in the day-to-day operation of Volkswagen is in front. So I opted for the Volksbus and gradually the whole line will be standardized, which makes it easier to operate and maintain the garage. "
Oliveira points the robustness as an essential feature in urban taxiing in the East and South regions of the capital of São Paulo, where his fleet runs. "The suspension is excellent and provides comfort to the driver and passengers, with the powertrain with very good torque. This is essential in climbs and especially at peak times when we take more passengers", says.
The after sales partnership also counts points: each Movebuss shuttle bus runs an average of 6,000 kilometers per month and has the assistance of the Tietê dealership, which conducts trainings for drivers, to boost the operation of the vehicles.
"That makes all the difference, it helps to get the best of the vehicles. My vehicles do not stop for corrective maintenance, because we follow the guidelines exactly. This undoubtedly helps us deliver better passenger service”, he says.
Jorge Carrer, executive manager of Sales of Buses of VW Caminhões e Ônibus, reinforces that the opinion of the operators is fundamental in the offer of products and services of excellence. "The day-to-day of the garages and the difficulties of the urban routes are our work material to offer to the clients and passengers constant evolutions in the public transport, combining the robustness of the engineering with the near attendance."
